love thursday: she loves me not

This may not qualify as a proper Love Thursday entry. As cute and funny and entertaining as the kittens have been, they’re not very affectionate …yet. Emmaline has only one thing on her mind - let’s play! Actually, she does have two other enduring desires: to conduct a thorough uninterrupted investigation of the fireplace and to eat Minou’s food. Those of you that know how affectionate Nikki was will tell me to give it some time. And you’re right. It’s only been a short time. But how I wish it were sooner.

  1. AWE…how sweet! Happy Valentines Day!

  2. Meanwhile, you can wrap yourself up in a Nikki-inspired scarf. ;) Happy V-Day! Not Valentine’s but Vietnamese Day! Hehehe.

  3. Emmaline is so ycute - she looks great against red! Give it lots of time, my friend, and you will be amply rewarded. Minou and Emmaline are still so young and they are at that exploratory, energetic stage. They want to be on the move (much like toddlers). One of these days, you’ll find them running to you when they are frightened and staying near you …

  4. Emmy’s a cute-pie…Young kitties are so full of curiosity–play is winning over cuddles at the moment ;o) In a while they’ll be craving cuddles and giving momma and roomie some love. :o) Happy Valentine’s Day while you wait…((BIG HUGS))

  5. hey there nikki..yes have come out of selfimposed silence for the occasional comment n post…but life is well so-so to say the least..am hoping for divine inspiration, miracles, luck ,change of fate etc…so the blog activity will be sporadic to say the least..sporadic sppadic..hehe nice ring to it..anyways until things change wont be doing a lot of blogging..hope ur well…i see new company has been found since i last visited this blog..infact quite a few changes..but the food still looks amazing …damn u really do know how to please a guy! :-) cheerio n take care n keep those food pics going..**can atleast salivate n enjoy them from a far**

  6. I bet she loved playing with the candy hearts! But I bet you ate them, not her. :)

  7. Oh, they love you Anne. They’re just too new, young, and spunky to concentrate on how lovely you are and investigate moving objects at the same time.

    Happy Valentine’s Day :o)

  8. Thanks, Julie :-)
    .
WC, what’s with the nippy weather?! We were all geared for sunny and warm…. spoiled, I know.
    .
Kate and Mary and Tracy, you are right. I just need to remember that they are really young. I’ve never had young cats!
    .
Sppadic, nice to see you posting again even if I don’t understand a word of your sports posts. More food posts coming up :-)
    .
Lisa, she most certainly did not eat them! But she did discover a new hobby - chewing on the wire ties that hold my computer cables together.

  9. They’re kittens so it’s food and fun that’s important!
Give them plenty of love and affection, as I know you do, and you’ll be well rewarded in years to come. xx

  10. Food and fun is a great summary of their hearts’ desire, Flighty!

  11. Did Emmaline manage to get the foil off of those chocolates? x

  12. They seem full of fun at the moment. Aren’t they cute! Happy Valentine’s Day!
    Margaret and Noreen

  13. That is a very cute Valentines photo. Good colour, contrasting with the colour of the kitty. It took Eloise a couple years to get a little affectionate. You just need to kiss her went she is sleeping, as long as she is not sleeping in the fireplace.

  14. Oh she does too love you - just expresses it in her own way. That’s a cat for you!

    Happy Love Thursday!

  15. Shalet, I’m sure you’re right.
    .
Dawn, I’m encouraged by your Eloise’s example!
    .
Thanks for visiting, Margaret and Noreen - I’m coming to see you soon :-)
    .
Louise! You’re back visiting! You’ve been missed. Thanks for the ID on the beautiful shrub by your bench. And hope you’ll be back soon.

  16. This is adorable :) I went through a similar phase with our dog Stella when she first came to live with us. She’s now been here almost 6 months, and now she won’t *stop* playing and wanting to be near me.
