two together

minou + emmaline

The weekend weather was so warm and pleasant, I found myself spending lots of time outside looking back at these two sweet fluffies, sitting together behind the screen door, enjoying the summer-like breeze. One day, I’ll let them out to explore the garden. Maybe after a few years, their level of curiosity will be less intense and their attachment to home is strong, and they won’t bolt for the next county at the first opportunity.  But for now, I’m enjoying their newfound tolerance for each other’s company.

  6. It looks like they are on high alert, even coordinating who was going to be looking in what direction! I think they make good garden sentries.

  7. Thanks, Sarge!

Flighty, usually, Emmaline will come to be by Minou and he will walk away. This time, he stayed for about 10 minutes.

    Tracy, yes, veeeery slooooowly….
    .
Alison, they don’t yet make a fuss because they’ve never been outdoors, but we have low fences/walls in our neighborhoods and they’d scale them in no time!

Marilyn, so you’ve caught Emmaline’s perked up ears. She’s wondering if he’ll bite her and he’s wondering when she’ll leave.

  8. Ahhhh PEACE! The ultimate happiness!!

  9. That’s what I call progress and so quickly too. Before you know it they are the bestest of friends. :-)

  10. Good to see them getting along, they sure do make a handsome couple.

  11. It’s good to see that they are taking little kitty steps toward world peace. Cute photo!

  12. I think your two fluff balls are bonding so well and before you know it I think they will be a force to be reckoned with! Watch out! :o) xxxx

  13. These two lovely cats you have chosen look so content in their new home, and happy to be with each other. I love the photo, at first I thought you had given it the photoshop treatment, it looks as if it is on hessian or canvas. x

  14. Ginni, it was brief, but I’ll take what I can get!
    .
    Yolanda, I’m very glad, too.
    .
Carolyn, Emmaline thinks they do, Minou, not so much!
    .
    Willow — a little a day.
    .
Daffy, they are already quite the handful. But I do hope they’ll be good friends. After all, that was the whole idea!

Hey Louise, it’s my white screen door providing the “filter” :-)

  15. They ARE coming together. Tolerating each other will turn into something better :o)

  16. Oh how wonderful, they are even touching; that is great tolerance in a relatively short time. Minnie and Howard have been on the same bed, 5 feet apart, backs to each other, and we call that tolerance for the two of them. Howard and Eloise do play together, but he was young and she a kitten when they met.

  17. whaddaitellya?

  18. DawnHouser, what I can say? You’re right, of course. You were right about alfalfa meal, you are right about these cats.

Dawn - I used to think the two cats chasing each other was not too good, but Minou is putting on weight and could do with being chased a bit more! Hurray for your Minnie and Howard :-)

    Mary, here’s to hoping!
