fff mar 2

Welcome to March! It’s feeling a lot like spring around here — my favorite season. So much to be thankful for.
1. A brunch, a new friend, and new recipe. There’s an addition to our Monday night Bible study that I wanted to get to know better over brunch after church. I thought breakfast tacos would give her lots to choose from (scrambled eggs, ground beef, shrimp, avocados, pico de gallo, mango salsa, cheddar cheese, queso fresco, roasted poblanos, fresh corn). A new favorite? Shrimp and mango salsa (chopped shrimp, diced mango, chopped tomato, minced red onion, chopped cilantro, squeeze of lime juice).

2. Sunshine and rain. With the sun shining warmly, we had brunch on the patio. Afterwards, roomie and I did our study there, too, with Emmaline clacking at birds between sunning sessions. The next day? Refreshing rain.
3. Guests and garden chores. There’s nothing like having a friend over who wants to talk about gardening to motivate one to attend to gardening chores. Mowing, weeding, feeding, mulching, rearranging, and general tidying up occurred last weekend. And it feels great to see the results.
4. Virtual tours. I’ve been enjoying these time-lapsed tours of cities like Rio de Jainero, Athens, Cannes, L.A., and Thailand. That miniaturizing effect of the tilt-shift lens adds a special charm to each scene.
5. Speaking of spring, these made me very happy this week: sparaxis, pelargoniums, freesias, verbena, leucojum, and dianthus.

I’m loving the blooms popping out all over–wish my photos were as brilliant as yours. Oooh, I’m swooning about talking gardens
I’m beginning to think you are living on a different planet than I am! You have so much beautiful colour in your food choices, plant choices….not so much here, although the sun did shine today. With highs of 7 C (44.6 F) and chillier nights, spring can not come soon enough. Your post shows that colour will eventually arrive…Your favorites always scintillate the senses!
Well here in my part of New York we have our first significant snow fall for the school year….a whopping 4 inches…some places got up to 10 inches of the white stuff! but..temps are warming to 50s F tomorrow so it’ll be a quick melt. i am sooo ready for blooming flowers…! I love doing chores with friends and YUMMY….those breakfast tacos sound awesome!!
Those city tours are amazing! I feel like I’ve been on a mini-vacation and haven’t left my seat! Such lovely blossoms highlighted today, Anne… And I love the idea of breakfast tacos. Might have to have this for our anniversary weekend coming up soon. The shrimp mango salsa sounds bright & beautiful for the palate.
) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))
Lovely to see all your spring pics – much the same here everything bursting forth
A lovely fff! I like spring too. Enjoy the weekend. xx
Spring looks to be most definitely in the air where you live!
I would like to come to your house and eat a breakfast burrito, please and thank you. Yummy! =D
Love your pictures!
Wow! Your pictures are enough to brighten my day!
There’s not many flowers where I live yet, but I’m looking forward to them.
Your breakfast tacos look divine! As do your flowers.
I always love to see your photos.
Your brunch and study on the patio sounds really neat. I eat my eggs pretty plain with ham and cheddar cheese mixed in, but my middle son loves to try different spices and add-ins — he’d love that.
Love the spring blooms!
I’ll have to come back and look at those tours when I have a little more time. Sounds interesting!
Such charming variety and colors! And delicious tastes too. And smells too. I think freesias are my favorite scent of all…
Breakfast tacos sound like a wonderful idea! I’ll have to keep that in mind for breakfast meetings. I think I ran across those time lapsed tours this week as well, they are fun.
What a great idea for brunch! And eating outside in lovely sunshine, bonus!
What lovely pictures of spring arriving!
I am thankful to be yet in awe of your photography. I can taste the food. Smell the plants. Feel the air.
Quite a choice for Brunch. I agree about the gardening. Nothing like catching someone else’s enthusiasm.
